1975 BMW R90/6
This BMW R90 was purchased in 1984 by David's father in law Ken Deneau. At that point the bikes original orange was changed to Ferrari Grigio metallic, as Ken's brother was working at the Sports Car Exchange in Detroit and had some extra paint on hand.
In 2005, after over 150,000 miles and 30 years of faithful service, Ken decided 'Bessie' deserved a makeover. He replaced the gas tank with a larger touring style, shortened the seat, and fabricated custom fiberglass lower ferring pieces. At that point the bike was ready for paint, the orange and cream two tone was chosen as a nod to the bikes original color. Hand painted walnut pin striping was applied by Juliet Michele along the color transitions and finished with an Art Deco inspired design above the headlamp. The pin striping was then clear coated into the paint work.
Years later the bike looks beautiful and can be seen touring around the Detroit area and Northern Michigan.
