David Michele is co-owner of the shop and has been working on foreign cars since 1988 when he and his father re-built a Fiat X-19. His educational background is in automotive design, and his love of beautiful things lead him to working on vintage cars.
Juliet Michele is co-owner of the shop and she supported the shop in its early years by working as a pastry chef. Her educational background is in graphic design, and she is now the website designer and office manager.
Steve Robertson has been restoring cars professionally for over 30 years. He was trained by his father, Vern, who along with his brother co-owned and operated Robertson Auto Body in West Olive, Michigan for many years. Steve is a gifted craftsman and a magician with a paint gun. He has been with us from the beginning and we are fortunate to have him as part of our team.
Tim Locatis brings with him many years of experience. His talents lie not just with the welding torch and paint gun but also with the complicated connections and materials related to interior and custom work. Tim has the patience and creativity necessary to bring a project through to completion.
A. J. Dykstra is a machinist by trade, he brings a much appreciated level of precision and problem solving to the shop floor.
Arthur Vaandering is a highly creative individual and an excellent mechanic. He has been working on Mercedes-Benz, Alfa Romeo, Triumph, MG and Lancia vehicles for over 30 years. When Art is able to lend us his unique level of experience the shop is a more colorful place.
Isabella Michele is nine years old, and already a mechanic in training. She loves to help her dad clean up the shop and put everything away at the end of the work day.
Stella Michele is five years old and will make a fine race car driver someday. She is full of adrenaline and likes to go really fast!
Vern Robertson brought European Auto over 40 years of professional experience. He owned and operated Robertson Auto Body, on the north side of Holland, with his 2 sons for nearly 30 years. He was a gifted craftsman and we were fortunate to have him with us during our first few years in business. Vern worked on the Fiat 2100 and the Alfa Romeo Alfetta before he passed away in 2006.
Gerardo Michele is Davids father and he handles all of our wood restoration projects. Gerardo apprenticed under his father in Italy until he moved to Connecticut, where he has worked as a cabinet maker for nearly 40 years. A true perfectionist, his work is as beautiful as it is rare.
