The Grattan event was the second race of the season for European Auto. We were pleased to have Jerry racing his Volvo at this event, as he was breaking in a brand new engine that had been re-built here at the shop, and was finished just days before the race. The Volvo ran exceptionally well, and Jerry is a natural behind the wheel. During the Enduro David co-drove Terry Stahly’s 1971 Alfa Romeo GTV to a 6th place overall finish. The Alfetta took a 7th place overall finish in its feature race with a year-to-date best lap time of 1:37.8. The video footage was taken with Jerry’s in car camera, and both David & Jerry edited the footage from their respective races... nice job!

May 2009 at GingerMan Raceway
This season European Auto Restoration is racing two cars. Our original Alfa Romeo Alfetta Berlina will be on the track, driven by David Michele. The newcomer is a Volvo 122 S, driven by David’s brother Jerry Michele. Jerry is fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a race car driver. The May 2009 race at Gingerman Raceway was preceded by the annual VSCDA racing school, which Jerry attended and passed with flying colors. Congratulations Jerry!
