This Montreal was originally a German market car, built at the end of production. ‘Monty’ arrived at European Auto Restoration in the summer of 2018 for a new interior and to address a mysterious oil leak. A thorough inspection revealed hidden structural issues stemming from multiple accidents. The body was twisted and out of square, and the repairs lacked integrity. The entire chassis and attachment panels were stripped down to bare metal. The chassis was pulled back to square, the collapsed roof was lifted, rusty areas were replaced with new metal, and everything was securely welded together. The body and panels were carefully refinished and all of the new weld seams were sealed to prevent rust in the future.

Monty was painted AR602 Arancio Metallizzato, a stunning color that was offered only for the Montreal. The interior was completely restored. The seats were rebuilt and reupholstered with a corduroy fabric inspired by photos of the original Montreal prototype. All of the mechanicals including the engine were completely rebuilt and reinstalled. The engine received an increase in horse power due to improvements in the cylinder head ports and performance cam shafts. The engine at red line makes an unforgettable sound! In the fall of 2023 Monty was reborn, ready to take on many miles of spirited driving.
