1961 Maserati 3500GT
This 3500 GT was hand built in Modina, Italy. The engine was rebuilt once at the factory, while the body was never touched. It is still wearing its factory original ‘Luna Metallizato’ paint. This gem was packed away long ago in a garage in Michigan and was recently unearthed by the original owners family. What a treasure!
This may be the most exquisitely handcrafted object that we have ever worked with. The aluminum skin is so expertly stitched together, with such a high level of craft, it is truly in a league of its own. The challenge with this project is to carefully strip and preserve the aluminum body while exposing and repairing the rusty substructure. Once the body is carefully returned to original condition, the mechanicals will be restored and reinstalled. Then the locked up engine will be rebuilt, the interior will be restored and all of the beautifully designed elements that make this car so unique will be returned to original condition.
